Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
EZTV4you (“we”, “us”) is a Canadian business. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It is written to meet Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.
The owner of EZTV4you is responsible for privacy at EZTV4you. You can reach them through the contact page.
1. What we collect
When you create an account: your first and last name, email address, phone number, mailing address (street, city, province or state, postal code and country), and a password. Passwords are stored in scrambled (hashed) form; we cannot see them.
When you place an order: the service and plan you chose, whether you are renewing, the Device/App you use, and, depending on the service, your device’s MAC address, the username from your existing setup, or the email address you used to register the app. We also record the payment method you chose, any note or coupon code you enter, the date you accepted our Terms, and the setup details we send you (such as a username, password, activation code or playlist link).
When you use the site: the date and time you log in, your IP address and browser type while you are logged in, your account status (pending, active, deactivated) and related dates, and the preference you set for marketing emails.
When you contact us: your name, email address, and whatever you write in your message.
What we do not collect: we never see or store payment card numbers or bank account details. You pay directly through a payment service such as Interac e-Transfer or PayPal, which is governed by that service’s privacy policy. We only learn that a payment was made and whatever identifying details that service shows us (for example the name and email on an e-Transfer). We do not use advertising trackers, analytics tools or social-media pixels.
2. Why we collect it
We use your information to:
- review and approve new accounts, and keep your account secure;
- process and fulfil your orders and activate your subscription with the service provider;
- email you about your account and orders, for example order confirmations, payment instructions, setup details and renewal reminders;
- answer your questions and provide support;
- apply coupons and keep track of their use;
- prevent fraud, abuse and misuse of the site, including enforcing our account rules (such as closing accounts that place no order within 72 hours, or that have been inactive for an extended period);
- send marketing emails about our services, only if you have agreed to receive them;
- keep the business records that tax, accounting and other laws require; and
- maintain and improve the site.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
3. Consent
By giving us your information when you register, order or contact us, you consent to its use for the purposes above. Marketing emails are sent only with your separate, express consent, which you give by ticking the marketing box when you register or on your Account page. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see section 8). You can also withdraw consent to other uses by closing your account, subject to the records we must keep (section 6).
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only as described here:
The service provider you buy from. To activate a subscription we send the provider what it needs to set up your account, typically your device’s MAC address, your app registration email, your existing username, and the plan you bought. We do not send your name, mailing address, phone number or payment details. Providers are independent businesses, may be located outside Canada, and handle this information under their own policies, which we do not control.
Companies that run our website. Like most small businesses, we use outside companies to host the site, store its database and deliver its email. At present these are Vercel (hosting), Neon (database) and Resend (email delivery). They process information only on our instructions, and their servers are located in the United States. This means your information may be stored and processed outside Canada and may be subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access by its authorities.
Payment services. When you pay, you deal directly with the payment service you chose. We do not pass your information to it.
When the law requires it. We may disclose information to comply with a law, court order or lawful request, to protect our rights or safety or those of others, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
If the business changes hands. If EZTV4you is sold or reorganized, customer information may be transferred to the new owner, who will be bound by this policy.
5. Cookies
The site uses one cookie, which keeps you logged in during your visit. It contains a random session identifier only. It is removed when you log out, and you are logged out automatically after 15 minutes without activity. We do not use third-party, advertising or analytics cookies.
6. How long we keep it
- Account information is kept while your account is open and for a reasonable time after it is closed, in case you want it reopened or we need it to resolve a dispute.
- Order records (what was bought, when, for how much, and the setup details we sent) are business and tax records. We keep them for at least seven years, as Canadian tax law requires, even if you close your account. When an account is deleted, we remove the link between you and those orders where we can, but the order details remain.
- Contact messages are kept as long as needed to help you and for a reasonable time afterwards.
- Your marketing preference is kept so that we remember not to email you after you unsubscribe.
7. How we protect it
The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, passwords are hashed, and only the business owner and the people who run the site can access customer information. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without authorization. If a breach of our safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires. Please help by keeping your password private and telling us if you think your account has been misused.
8. Your choices and rights
- See and correct your information. You can view and update your name, contact details and address on your Account page. For anything else, contact us and we will give you access to the personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions, within 30 days.
- Stop marketing emails. Untick the marketing box on your Account page, or contact us and we will remove you within 10 business days. You will still receive emails that are part of your service, such as order confirmations and setup details, while you have an account.
- Close your account or delete your information. Contact us. We will delete your account and personal information, except for the records described in section 6.
- Complain. If you are not satisfied with how we handled your information, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Residents of Quebec may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
9. Children
Our services are for adults. You must be at least 18 to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Customers outside Canada
We are based in Canada and your information is processed in Canada and the United States, as explained in section 4. If you order from another country, you agree to that transfer.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If a change is significant, we will email the address on your account before it takes effect.
